I received a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from TAMIU and a Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Mississippi College. I also hold certification as a Licensed Professional Counselor and as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. My work experience includes working with the Webb County Youth Village Detention Center, Webb County Treatment Program, a full-time mental health counselor, a clinical supervisor at PILLAR as well as a mental health professional counselor at United Independent School District. I specialize in Play Therapy with children and adolescents. I utilize a blend of Cognitive Behavioral, Gestalt Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectic Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused, Narrative Therapy, and psycho-education to individuals age 8 and up. A holistic, strength based, person centered approach guides my practice. My theory is individuals who have the motivation to improve and courage to seek growth through vulnerability and hard work they can accomplish all the goals they desire.
